AWS Bedrock pricing for Claude
Amazon Bedrock charges the same per-token prices as Anthropic’s own API for every Claude model it lists. Two things change the bill: the newest models have no batch discount on Bedrock, and regional endpoints cost 10% more than global ones.

How Bedrock bills
- On-demand: pay per million input and output tokens, as in the table. This is how most apps use Bedrock.
- Prompt caching: repeated parts of a prompt can be stored for 5 minutes or an hour. Writing to the cache costs a little more than normal input; reading from it costs a small fraction. The prices match Anthropic’s.
- Batch: half price for jobs that can wait, on the models AWS offers it for. Among the Claude models listed, only older ones such as Opus 5, Opus 4.6, Sonnet 4.6 and Haiku 4.5 have a batch price on Bedrock.
- Reserved and provisioned capacity: AWS lists a Reserved Tier and Provisioned Throughput for steady, high-volume use. Prices come from your AWS account team.
Global or regional endpoint
Anthropic’s guide to Claude on Bedrock describes two endpoint types. A global endpoint routes each request to whichever AWS region has capacity, with no price premium. A regional endpoint keeps the request in the region you choose, which some data-residency rules require, and costs 10% more than global.
AWS shows its prices by region. The table above is the global cross-region list as AWS shows it for US East (Ohio). Pick your own region on AWS’s page before you budget.
What the batch gap costs
Example: 20,000 documents a month, each 4,000 tokens in and 800 out, on Claude Sonnet 5.5.
For work that needs an answer straight away, the two cost the same. The gap only appears on jobs that can wait for a batch.
Which to use
On price alone, Bedrock and Anthropic’s API are level for real-time requests. Bedrock fits when your app already runs on AWS and you want one bill, AWS access controls and AWS regions. Anthropic’s API is cheaper for large batch jobs on the newest models. Google Cloud and Microsoft Foundry also sell Claude, at prices set on their own pages.
