The best AI for business: team plans compared

If you want a separate assistant for writing, analysis and code, Claude Team and ChatGPT Business both cost $20 a seat a month billed yearly. Here is what each includes and what a team of ten pays.

Which to choose
- Your team works in Gmail and Google Docs: Google Workspace. Gemini is included on every business plan, from Gmail on Starter to Docs, Meet and more on Standard.
- Your team works in Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams: Microsoft 365 with Copilot, as a $21 add-on or bundled into Business Standard ($23.50 a user) or Business Premium ($32).
- You want one strong assistant for writing, analysis and code: Claude Team or ChatGPT Business, both $20 a seat billed yearly ($25 monthly), alongside either office suite. Claude Team includes Claude Code; ChatGPT Business includes Codex. For heavier users, both sell premium seats at $100 ($125 monthly) with five times the usage.
- You want AI inside your own product or support desk: pay per use through an API instead of per seat. A support chat answering 30,000 questions a month costs about $10.80 on Claude Haiku 5.5 or GPT-6 Luna; work out yours with the cost calculator.
Google Workspace with Gemini
Google Workspace includes Gemini in every business plan. Business Starter ($7 per user a month with a one-year commitment) puts the Gemini assistant in Gmail and lets everyone chat with Gemini. Business Standard ($14) adds Gemini in Docs, Meet and more, and expanded access to Gemini Notebook and the Gemini app. Business Plus is $22. Prices are higher without the yearly commitment.
Microsoft 365 Copilot
Microsoft sells Copilot Business as an add-on to its Microsoft 365 business plans: $21 per user a month paid yearly, $18 under an offer that ends December 31, 2026, or $25.20 paid monthly. It is also bundled into Business Standard ($23.50) and Business Premium ($32). Microsoft’s plan comparison lists pre-built agents such as Researcher and Analyst, and Enterprise Data Protection, among Copilot’s features.
Claude Team
Claude Team is for teams of 2 to 150. A standard seat costs $20 a month billed yearly or $25 monthly, with more usage than Claude Pro and Claude Code, Cowork and Claude Design included. A premium seat ($100 yearly, $125 monthly) has five times the usage of a standard seat, and you can mix the two. Team adds single sign-on, central billing and admin controls, and Anthropic says it does not train models on your content by default. Enterprise costs $20 a seat a month plus usage at API rates, with at least 20 seats.
ChatGPT Business
ChatGPT Business is for teams of 2 to 200 employees. A standard seat costs $20 a month billed yearly or $25 monthly, and includes all ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and Codex features. A premium seat ($100 yearly, $125 monthly) has five times the usage with no five-hour limit, plus Dots, OpenAI’s always-on agents. You can mix seat types. Business connects to Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Microsoft 365 and more, adds single sign-on with SAML and MFA, central billing, usage analytics and spend controls, and OpenAI says it does not train on your business data by default. Enterprise pricing is on request.
